Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Stacy Hirst

Dr. Hirst is our full-time veterinarian at Express Vets. Dr. Hirst moved to Forsyth County from Cincinnati, Ohio in 1995 and is a local graduate of South Forsyth High School. She received both her undergraduate and doctorate degrees from the University of Georgia. Since graduating in 2006, she has been practicing small animal medicine locally and loves the connections she has made with her furry patients and their families. Dr. Hirst serves as the President of the Forsyth-Dawson Veterinary Medical Association. She and her husband, Graham, have two daughters, Emerson and Brantley, and their family also has two dogs, three cats, and saltwater fish. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, Georgia football games and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Dawn Jackson

Dr. Jackson grew up in Troy, Michigan and moved to Georgia in 1988. She received both her BS in Microbiology and her DVM degree from the University of Georgia. Since graduating in 2004, she has been practicing small animal medicine in Peachtree Corners. Recently joining the Express Vets team she has a special interest in both dermatology and internal medicine. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian, however, is the relationships that she builds with her clients. She and her husband, Jason, have two children, Sydney and Easton, as well as four cats. When she is not working, she can usually be found on the soccer field with her kids. She also enjoys traveling and spending time on Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River with her family.

Dr. Lyn Lewis

Dr. Thomas “Lyn” Lewis, Jr. is from coastal Beaufort, South Carolina. He attended Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C. for his Bachelor of Science in Biology, where he graduated with honors. In 1998, he began Veterinary School at the University of Georgia. In 2002, Dr. Lewis had the pleasure of presenting his grandfather, Dr. George Radford, his 50-year medallion honoring his graduation from UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 1952. Soon after graduation in 2002, he started his career at Appalachian Animal Hospital in Ellijay, GA. He quickly became a partner and then purchased the hospital outright in 2008. In 2009 Dr. Lewis purchased Wayside Animal Hospital from Dr. Mike McGhee. By 2011, Dr. Lewis sold Appalachian Animal Hospital and focused his full energy into serving Pickens County and Wayside Animal Hospital. Dr. Lewis has extensive experience with both dogs and cats but has also worked with gorillas, kangaroos, raptors, cougars, black bears, and other wildlife. He loves internal medicine, dermatology, and has specialized training in physical therapy/rehabilitation. However, he especially loves spending time with our clients in both the exam rooms and the lobby. Dr. Lewis has authored over 100 articles for various newspapers in North Georgia. Dr. Lewis has always stayed active in the community with the local Chamber of Commerce events, he works with local classrooms, the Youth Apprenticeship Program, and the FFA. He is the Founder and serves on the Board for the Mountain Emergency Animal Center, an after-hours veterinary hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. In his spare time, Dr. Lewis loves playing tennis, spending time with his wife Kristen and their children Addison and Patrick.

Meet Our Team

Nicole Troche

Nicole is our Operations Manager. After starting her career in Veterinary Medicine as a receptionist in 2003, she transitioned into Customer Service Management in 2006, and then into Practice Management in 2013. She has received her Veterinary Practice Management Certification at Penn Foster and has a passion for helping others and ensuring that all pets receive quality medicine at an affordable price. Nicole was born and raised in Florida and moved to Georgia in 2001. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and enjoying a nice meal with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her 2 dogs, Raven and Kaia have been a joy for her to watch their bond and ability to help one another, as Raven is deaf and has learned to rely on her sister for direction and has learned sign language for her commands.

Morgan Bond

Morgan is the Express Vets Training Coordinator. She grew up locally in Georgia, but was born in Kentucky and decided to return to her roots for her undergraduate degree and received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Kentucky. She has worked in the veterinary field as an assistant since 2015 and, after graduating, moved home to Georgia in 2018. Her love and passion for animals started at a young age and continues to grow! In her free time, she enjoys going to the lake, spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and cuddling with her hound-mix Baxter (aka her pride and joy).

Julie Levy

Julie is our Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist. Julie has enjoyed a lifetime of being in the company of animals and began her professional career in animal care in 2014. She is committed to providing skilled and compassionate service while ensuring that pet owners are educated on how to keep their companions safe, happy and healthy. Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children participating in community events, traveling and watching movies. Their household is made complete by three mischievous kitties and a faithful canine.

Madison Gaglio

Madison joined our Cumming location in 2020 as a Veterinary Assistant and you may see her smiling up at our front desk sometimes too. Madison was originally born in Louisiana, growing up as a military kid, she has moved all over the US. Madison’s love for animals started at a very young age and once she settled in Georgia she found herself working at a local county shelter. Her love for vet medicine began and continues to grow each day. In Madison’s free time she works on canine training and goes hiking with her best dog friend Scrappy. She also volunteers her time transporting rescue animals for local rescue groups.

Alyssa Olmos

Alyssa is a Veterinary Assistant at Express Vets and joined us in 2021. She started volunteering her time with a local rescue, Angels Among Us, in 2017 and entered the veterinary profession as a Kennel Assistant in 2018. Alyssa is currently in school working on becoming a registered veterinary technician, where she hopes to learn more about the animals she loves while using what knowledge she has gained in her experience to give our client’s furry friends the best possible care while here. When Alyssa isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and canine fur-baby and watching movies and reading.
